Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other bakery products as needed according to production demands and catering service sheets, and assist in planning production to meet daily requirements.
  • Ensure proper food preparation using approved recipes, following prescribed production standards, and using appropriate equipment.
  • Help maintain production records, including tracking waste, used/unused portions, and product shortages, and inform the supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and maintain service at the correct temperatures.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards for all equipment, supplies, and utensils in the work area.
  • Handle food appropriately and in compliance with safety regulations during preparation and service.
  • Clean equipment and work areas before leaving for other assignments, keeping presentation equipment clean and free of debris.
  • Demonstrate the ability to execute calmly, accurately, and efficiently a high level of production and service.
  • Ensure all food is presented and served according to standards.
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety principles in handling food and equipment, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Baking/Pastry certificate from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of training and experience in baking/pastry is a plus.
  • Reliability and ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with initiative and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a team in a dynamic environment.
