The Team
The Ridge Meadows Child and Youth Mental Health team is a close-knit, creative, and collaborative group of ten clinicians dedicated to supporting children and youth with moderate to severe mental health challenges. This established team includes Master’s-level counselors, psychiatric nurses, and a consulting psychiatrist and works as part of an Integrated Child and Youth Team within the community. Together, they make a meaningful impact by improving the mental health and well-being of the young people they serve.

The Role
As a Psychologist with the Ridge Meadows Child and Youth Mental Health team, you’ll provide direct clinical treatment and conduct standardized psychological assessments to support children and youth with mental health needs. Your work will play a vital role in addressing the growing demand for mental health services for young people, helping them thrive. This position offers the chance to grow and learn as part of a multidisciplinary, community-based team dedicated to making a meaningful difference.

Qualifications:Education and Experience Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Clinical/Applied Psychology, Counselling Psychology, OR PsyD, AND *registered with, or eligible for registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC). *Note: If you are registered as a Psychologist in another province, equivalencies for out of province applicants may be considered by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC). Please contact the association for registration requirements in BC.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Completion of a psychological pre-or post-doctoral internship of 1600 hours in a child and youth mental health or hospital setting with specialization in formal psychological assessment, diagnoses and treatment of mental health disorders.
  • Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
  • Experience in clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e., from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
  • Experience using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
  • Applicants with experience/knowledge with Child and Youth Mental Health Services in British Columbia.
  • Applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
  • This is a part-time (0.4 FTE, 28 hours biweekly) position.
  • Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home biweekly subject to an approved telework agreement.
  • A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
  • Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
