Who we are
BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We’re expanding our team and looking to add a Senior QA/QC team member who will play a key role in improving our testing frameworks, processes, and team efficiency.
About the role
In this position, you’ll help us in establishing a robust and proactive QA/QC process that will drive better quality and more secure software releases. Our ideal candidate is someone with deep experience in quality assurance who can bring a strategic vision while remaining heavily involved in hands-on testing and process improvement.
This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office (not a remote position).
In this role, you will be expected to:
Build and enhance our QA framework to embrace a ‘Shift Left’ philosophy
Develop and manage test cases, collaborating closely with both local and international teams.
Introduce and implement automated testing strategies (using tools like Playwright and Selenium).
Coordinate the testing efforts, manage workloads, and track progress across multiple teams.
Improve quality control processes to better align with compliance and risk management requirements.
Monitor and measure QA-related metrics, including bug reduction, test coverage, and time-to-release.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and development, to define quality standards and objectives.
Facilitate training sessions to maintain consistency in system knowledge across the QA/QC team.
Manage regression testing cycles and coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
You might be the right fit if you:
Have 5+ years of QA experience.
Are proficient in automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).
Are able to quickly grasp complex system knowledge, and understand the nuances of developing effective test cases.
Are a strong communicator with leadership skills that can unite and guide teams across different regions.
Thrive in building processes from scratch and driving continuous improvement.
Are adaptable and enjoy working in an environment with evolving needs and challenges.
Have experience with risk and compliance considerations in QA/QC processes.
Bonus points if you have:
Experience building automation scripts from the ground up.
Knowledge of lower-code/no-code testing tools such as Katalon, TestComplete, or TestSigma.
Familiarity with project management and change management best practices.
Proficiency with Excel for data tracking and analysis.
Experience in a leadership capacity is an asset.
Salary ranges are based on experience, reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role. In addition to this salary, we offer full medical (health, dental, and vision) coverage as well as life insurance and disability insurance.
