Implement, monitor and verify HACCP and Food Safety Program. Promotes and maintains food safety, food quality and food defense requirements. Ensures the operation meets and/or exceeds quality, distribution and production guidelines as set by government and company standards. Reviews QA inspection reports to assess findings, responses, and need for follow-up activities. Audits and reviews all programs and procedures on annual basis or when significant changes/implementations occurred. Ensures that the Good Laboratory Practice Master Schedule is maintained according to regulations, standards, and procedures. Conduct plant inspections and support production, sanitation, maintenance, and warehouse departments when food safety, quality or compliance issues may arise. Conduct follow-up with different departments on action plans as a result of HACCP reassessments / internal and external audits. Occasionally works on R&D projects for implementation of new product ideas Effectively communicates with personnel, clients, subcontractors, regulatory inspectors, and third party organizations. Hires, reviews, motivates, and disciplines, as appropriate, QA personnel. Performs other related jobs that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.
