As a Superintendent within IDL’s building division, you will oversee varied remote projects in the commercial, residential, public, and institutional sectors. These projects will be located in either Northern or North Western BC where you will work on either a 21-day-on-10-day-off or 14-day on-7-day off rotation. The position will work in conjunction with the Project Manager, along with the assistance of a Foreman, Project Administrator, and field personnel. Your primary focus will be to lead site activity during execution phase but also assist in aspects of preconstruction. This will include the day-to-day site management, coordinating the work of in-house crews as well as external subtrades, monitoring and evaluating quality control, ensuring project budget and schedule is maintained, project progress reporting, identifying and advising on design deficiencies, ensuring site safety, and design review, value engineering, and schedule development efforts. IDL requires someone with a minimum of 5(+) years’ experience as a Superintendent for a General Contractor and/or Developer Builder in BC. Having a history of delivering new build residential, commercial, public, and/or institutional projects is a must. Ideally, this person will have a technical background in Carpentry, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Proficiency in MS Projects and/or Procore is preferred. Having prior experience managing remote projects as well as managing in-house crews and external subtrades is considered an asset. Having prior project experience with wood frame, CLT, and/or steel structure is also considered an asset. The successful candidate will have a good permanent work history, leadership qualities, and be knowledgeable in various trade fields.
