Staff Embedded Imaging Software Engineer

Embedded imaging expertise meets C++ and Python development at VIAVI Solutions in Ottawa, supporting optical test and measurement systems.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will develop embedded controls, automation, and user interfaces for complex electro-optical-mechanical instrumentation. The work spans imaging and machine vision applications, embedded Linux platforms, and complete product lifecycle support. You will collaborate across requirements, prototyping, integration, and production.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs
Develop embedded imaging algorithms and applications
Integrate and maintain embedded Linux platforms
Support system architecture, bring-up, and BSP development
Prepare technical documentation and support production
Requirements: Degree in computer science, mathematics, or related engineering
5+ years developing software with C/C++ and Python
3+ years developing embedded real-time systems
3+ years in embedded imaging and machine vision
Knowledge of image processing tools including Open CV and Num Py
Apply embedded Linux, C++, Python, and machine vision expertise to VIAVI optical instrumentation development in Ottawa.
