This Senior Software Engineer role focuses on production-grade backend applications and scalable distributed systems. You will create APIs and microservices supporting Authentication as a Service, extending e Bay’s capabilities toward Depop and additional marketplaces. Your work includes architecture, implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Develop Java and Spring Boot backend services and REST APIs
Design scalable microservices and distributed system architectures
Build asynchronous workflows with Google Pub/Sub or Kafka
Contribute decisions on scalability, security, and fault tolerance
Own services through design, deployment, and troubleshooting
Requirements: Six or more years building production-grade software
Strong Java experience or willingness to develop in Java
Backend development experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
Understanding of event-driven and asynchronous architectures
Strong problem-solving and independent technical ownership skills
Use Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, and event-driven design to shape e Bay’s reusable authentication services.
