JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide expertise and hands-on support in a broad range of HR functions for a multi-site region across Nova Scotia, including:
    • Employee Engagement
    • Performance management and Talent Management
    • Training and development
    • Diversity and Inclusion
    • Health and wellness
  2. Participate in Human Resources & Safety projects and initiatives including policy development and process improvement
  3. Assist site leadership teams with the onboarding of successful candidates
  4. Oversee investigations within assigned region
  5. Communicate and support implementation of corporate initiatives to assigned client groups.
  6. Partner with Talent Acquisition Team to ensure talent acquisition strategies are developed, implemented and effective at maintaining employees.
  7. Partner with terminal managers to focus on talent management, coaching, development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Post-secondary degree/diploma with a Human Resources focus
  2. 5+ years' work experience in a Human Resources role
  3. Professional demeanor and confidentiality are a must
  4. Experience coaching and influencing across all levels of leadership
  5. Ability to multitask while remaining flexible and managing shifting priorities
  6. Demonstrated problem solving, judgment and decision-making ability
  7. Excellent computer skills and proficient knowledge of MS Office
  8. Experience in a Federally regulated business is considered a strong asset.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  10. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to handle ambiguity.
  11. Ability to travel 25%
