This role is central to daily transportation operations and combines responsibilities similar to a dispatcher with full oversight of fleet assets. The Fleet Manager will play a critical role in supporting drivers, maintaining fleet readiness, managing costs, and responding quickly to operational issues involving trucks and trailers. This role is ideal for a hands-on transportation professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment. The Fleet Manager is responsible for coordinating daily fleet operations while managing company-owned trucks and trailers. This role works closely with drivers, dispatch, maintenance providers, and management to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective fleet operations. This position may require the individual to respond to after-hours or emergency situations related to fleet issues, including breakdowns, accidents, or urgent repairs. Coordinate daily fleet and driver operations in alignment with dispatch requirements Manage fleet assets, including trucks and trailers, ensuring availability and roadworthiness Coordinate and authorize repairs, roadside assistance, towing, and out-of-service calls Respond to emergencies involving trucks and trailers as required Monitor and control fleet-related costs (towing, emergency repairs, downtime, service calls) Track preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs Liaise with external service providers, vendors, and repair facilities Maintain accurate records related to fleet activity, incidents, and repairs Support compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve fleet efficiency Experience in fleet management, dispatch, or transportation operations Proven ability to manage and control operational costs (towing, emergency calls, out-of-service events, etc.) Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours or emergency fleet situations Fluency in both English and French is mandatory Full-time, permanent position Opportunity to play a key operational role within a growing transportation organization MERE HR & Consulting and our client are committed to employment equity and an inclusive workplace. Gérer les actifs de la flotte (camions et remorques) et assurer leur disponibilité Répondre aux situations d’urgence liées aux camions et remorques Assurer le suivi de l’entretien préventif, des inspections et des réparations Identifier des opportunités d’optimisation des coûts et de performance Expérience en gestion de flotte, répartition ou opérations de transport Maîtrise obligatoire du français et de l’anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit Poste permanent à temps plein Rôle clé au sein d’une organisation de transport en croissance
