Join us in our mission to become the leading car accessory brand in North America. TuxMat is building the next generation of high-performance automotive floor mats with a focus on in-house, scalable manufacturing. As we transition into pilot production, we are assembling a team of agile, hands-on contributors to help shape our production processes from the ground up. We are seeking a skilled Sewing Operator to assist in the development and early-stage implementation of our edge banding and finishing process. This is not a conventional production role—this is an opportunity to help build the process itself. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production leads to: Establish edge-binding and sewing standards for complex 3D thermoformed mats. Test and validate industrial sewing equipment and edge-banding tools. Provide feedback on ergonomics, tooling, material compatibility, and workflow. Help define equipment and staffing needs for scale-up. Key Responsibilities: Operate industrial sewing machines to edge-bind thermoformed mat prototypes. Evaluate material handling, feeding, and stitching of various edge-banding solutions. Assist with the setup, adjustment, and maintenance of edge-binding stations. Collaborate with R&D and process engineers to test different equipment configurations. Suggest improvements in tooling, fixtures, and operator workflows. Help determine equipment and layout needs for future high-volume production. Maintain quality, consistency, and a high level of craftsmanship in all test runs Required: 2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial or upholstery sewing. Experience working with edge banding, foam, synthetic leather, or heavy materials. Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail. Comfortable working in a prototyping, test-focused environment. Ability to provide constructive feedback and collaborate with technical teams. Commitment: Flexible hours, part-time, on-call or by scheduled need (10–25 hrs/week expected) with potential for extension or transition to full-time Lead Sewing Operator role.
