What we offer for the Maintenance Laborer position: $1,500 hiring bonus Salary based on experience Day shift, Monday to Friday Group insurance Retirement savings plan (RRSP) 32 paid hours for personal leave Opportunities for advancement Pleasant atmosphere and stimulating work environment Purpose of the Position Reporting to the Maintenance Director, the incumbent supports overall production, plant maintenance, and various equipment, and must respond to emergency calls. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repair work on machines and tools. Production material management: Empty chips and other materials into the proper containers. Contact AIM when necessary. Empty trash into Waste Management containers. Operate the Zamboni. Clean oil spills. Coolant/Oil management: Read and update coolant concentration logs for machines. Refill machines. Notify when oils/coolant need to be ordered. Perform humidity tests in the air network; validate compressor/dryer. Ensure all necessary materials are available for maintenance and repairs. General building maintenance: repairs, painting, snow removal, salting, carpentry, plumbing, etc. Follow up on work with the director. Perform all related tasks. Assist external maintenance providers with equipment servicing. Job Requirements Education High school diploma (DES). Technical Skills 1–2 years of manual labor experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset). Forklift operation experience (an asset). Personal Skills Ability to work under pressure. Time and priority management. Interpersonal communication. Autonomy and good judgment. Detail-oriented and conscientious. Organized. Ability to use a measuring tape.
