JOB PURPOSE:

The Coach Technician will be required to maintain and service the various types of vehicles that operate in Coach Canada. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work adheres to Ministry of Transportation legislated requirements. The Coach Technician must have a mechanical license 310T as well as a valid Ontario Driver's License (BZ) and have experience in Detroit and Cummins diesel engine repair, drivetrains, brake systems, brake retarders, suspension/steering, electrical/electronic systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, wheelchair lifts and ramps.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable motor vehicle legislation, safety regulations, WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to read and interpret various technical manuals
  • Perform and diagnose vehicle malfunctions and identify deficiencies in vehicle components, performance or quality of repair, service or preventative maintenance work performance
  • Respond to emergency calls.
  • Apply safety rules and best practices

Position Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with Z endorsement (A, B, C, D Preferred), Valid 310T Mechanical License, and Valid Passport
  • Experience in the mechanical repair and maintenance of all company related equipment
  • Knowledge of safety rules and best practices related to the use of tools, vehicles and equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and ability to read and interpret various technical manuals
  • Reliable and capable of working in a team environment and independently
  • Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and random testing
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, able to multi-task, possess organizational skills to set priorities and meet required deadlines
  • Capable of working with a minimal amount of supervision and work flexible hours
  • Computer proficiency in Lotus Notes, internet and AS400
  • Must be knowledgeable of the operation and servicing of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment installed in the vehicles and working knowledge of transit equipment including electronic fareboxes, destination signs, communication equipment and GPS technology

Physical Requirements:

  • Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling
  • Reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift articles up to 50 lbs.

OBJET DE L'EMPLOI :

Le technicien d'autocar sera tenu d'entretenir et d'entretenir les divers types de véhicules qui fonctionnent dans Coach Canada. Ce poste est chargé de veiller à ce que tous les travaux soient conformes aux exigences législatives du ministère des Transports. Le technicien d'autocar doit avoir un permis mécanique 310T ainsi qu'un permis de conduire de l'Ontario (BZ) valide et avoir de l'expérience dans la réparation de moteurs diesel Detroit et Cummins, les transmissions, les systèmes de freinage, les ralentisseurs de frein, la suspension / direction, les systèmes électriques / électroniques, le chauffage, la ventilation, la climatisation, les ascenseurs pour fauteuils roulants et les rampes.

Rôles et responsabilités :

Connaissance approfondie de toutes les lois sur les véhicules automobiles, des règlements sur la sécurité, du SIMDUT et de la Loi sur la santé et la sécurité au travail applicables.

  • Capacité de lire et d'interpréter divers manuels techniques
  • Effectuer et diagnostiquer les défaillances du véhicule et cerner les lacunes dans les composants du véhicule, le rendement ou la qualité des travaux de réparation, de service ou d'entretien préventif
  • Répondre aux appels d'urgence.
  • Appliquer les règles de sécurité et les meilleures pratiques

Exigences du poste :

  • Permis de conduire valide avec mention Z (A, B, C, D Preferred), permis mécanique valide 310T et passeport valide
  • Expérience dans la réparation mécanique et l'entretien de tous les équipements liés à l'entreprise
  • Connaissance des règles de sécurité et des pratiques exemplaires liées à l'utilisation des outils, des véhicules et de l'équipement
  • Excellentes compétences en dépannage et en diagnostic et capacité à lire et à interpréter divers manuels techniques
  • Fiable et capable de travailler dans un environnement d'équipe et de manière indépendante
  • Dépistage préalable à l'emploi et au dépistage aléatoire des drogues et de l'alcool
  • Doit être capable de bien travailler sous pression, capable de multitâche, posséder des compétences organisationnelles pour établir des priorités et respecter les délais requis
  • Capable de travailler avec un minimum de supervision et de travailler des heures flexibles
  • Maîtrise de l'informatique dans Lotus Notes, Internet et AS400
  • Doit connaître l'exploitation et l'entretien de l'équipement du système de transport intelligent (STI) installé dans les véhicules et avoir une connaissance pratique de l'équipement de transport en commun, y compris les boîtes de perception électroniques, les panneaux de destination, l'équipement de communication et la technologie GPS

  • Debout important, marche, bouger, grimper, porter, se pencher, s'agenouiller, ramper
  • Atteindre, manipuler, pousser et tirer. Capacité de soulever des articles jusqu'à 50 lb.
