Drive innovation as a Senior Accountant at TRUMPF Canada, overseeing accounting operations, managing internal controls, and ensuring financial accuracy. Key responsibilities include managing journal entries, invoicing, AR/AP, payroll, tax management, and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Reporting:
    • Ensure accurate financial statements through robust internal controls and process optimization.
    • Manage accruals, reconciliations, transaction postings, invoicing, deposits, and government remittances.
    • Monitor and manage treasury and cash flow, ensuring effective working capital management.
    • Prepare and submit regular financial reports, including monthly variance analyses, to management.
    • Respond to internal and external audit inquiries and assist with audit processes.
    • Collaborate with the Finance Shared Service Organization in the US to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting to the Headquarter in Germany.
  • Process Development & Optimization:
    • Lead initiatives to automate and streamline financial processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
    • Develop and refine financial reporting tools to support effective financial planning and analysis.
    • Ensure accurate implementation and adherence to revenue and cost recognition rules for accrual accounting in line with corporate accounting standards.
  • Tax & Compliance:
    • Oversee tax compliance and ensure timely submission of all required tax filings, including coordination of external tax consultants.
    • Manage interactions with tax authorities, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.
  • Accounts Payable & Collections:
    • Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
    • Oversee collections to maintain positive cash flow and minimize outstanding receivables.
    • Collaborate with sales and operation teams to resolve billing or payment issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior accounting experience, preferably in a multinational sales environment.
  • Proven proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Experience with financial planning, reporting, and analysis, including the development of financial reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is essential; experience with AccountEdge is highly desirable.
  • Strong aptitude for automating financial processes and streamlining workflows.
  • Experience with German GAAP accounting would be helpful.
