Our client in the financial industry is seeking an experienced and passionate Art Director to visually represent creative concepts, evoking emotion and driving action across various brand initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong conceptual skills to develop the overall look and style for a project, combined with a deep expertise in visual design. You will thrive in a collaborative work environment, contributing fresh ideas and working strategically within established design guidelines while maintaining a customer focus. This is a 12-month contract position , and the role is hybrid 4 days onsite in Toronto. Responsibilities Serve as a highly practiced visual designer, driven by a passion for simplicity, clean, and modern aesthetics. Apply user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept through execution—across multiple mediums including print, audiovisual, experiential, CRM, and digital. Translate creative briefs and strategic insights into impactful communication pieces and campaigns. Effectively manage a diverse range of projects with both short and long timelines. Build strong working relationships and comfortably incorporate inspiration and ideas from various sources. Work collaboratively with print-production and motion production teams. Design creatively within existing brand guidelines, pushing them into new, fresh areas while ensuring brand consistency. Maintain a commitment to continuous learning, seeking new sources of inspiration and incorporating innovative ideas. Present and articulate your design work to all project stakeholders persuasively and engagingly. Champion a data-informed, customer-focused culture within the team. Requirements 5+ years of experience in graphic design, visual arts, or a related creative field. Post-secondary education in Design, Communications, the Fine Arts, or a related discipline. A demonstrable portfolio that showcases conceptual strength, meticulous attention to detail, and a balance of aesthetic beauty and clear visual communication. High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) . Ability to innovate within existing brand guidelines to create high-quality assets for presentations, audiovisual content, print materials, and digital needs. A positive, resilient personality, comfortable embracing feedback for continuous iteration and improvement. Comfortable working independently and efficiently, prioritizing tasks, and managing your time without direct oversight. Proven ability to balance high-quality design with short and demanding deadlines.
