Position Summary Vizsla Silver is seeking an experienced Project Planning Manager to join our team for the Panuco project. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, Panuco Project, this role will be pivotal in overseeing project scheduling, integration, and progress tracking across all project elements. The successful candidate will ensure timely delivery and efficiency, supporting the project's progression from planning through to construction and beyond. This position is based in Vancouver, BC, with significant travel and on-site presence required in Mazatlán, Mexico, particularly as the project advances to the construction phase. Key Responsibilities Integrate project schedules produced by consultants and contractors to create a cohesive master project schedule. Analyze critical activities and paths to identify risks, dependencies, and potential delays. Identify opportunities for schedule optimization, recommending adjustments to enhance efficiency and mitigate bottlenecks. Report on project progress, including performance metrics, variance analysis, and status updates for senior management and stakeholders. Forecast the timing of key upcoming milestones, providing accurate projections to support decision-making and resource allocation. Manage planning and scheduling for all aspects of the project scope, including: Owners' costs (e.g., overheads, permitting, and administrative timelines). Engineering and Procurement packages, ensuring alignment with schedules and deliverables. Construction contracts, monitoring progress, change orders, and completion forecasts. Equipment and materials supply purchase orders, tracking procurement timelines and supplier performance. Lead the implementation of planning and scheduling systems and tools to enhance accuracy and real-time tracking. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with scheduling standards, contractual obligations, and company policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and finance, to align schedules and support integrated project management. Lead a small team of planning professionals, primarily based in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, providing guidance, performance management, and professional development. Instill Vizsla Silver's corporate culture within the team, fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes safety, integrity, and excellence. Motivate and train junior employees, promoting skill development and career growth to build a high-performing team. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PSP, or equivalent) are highly desirable. Proven track record in project planning and scheduling within similar mining projects, with a strong understanding of the mining industry's operational dynamics. Preferably at least 10 years of experience in planning management roles, including hands-on involvement in schedule integration, analysis, and forecasting. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing small teams in multicultural or remote settings. Ability to instill corporate values, motivate staff, and mentor younger professionals to achieve team objectives. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar) and advanced analytical tools for schedule optimization. Spanish language skills are desirable to facilitate effective communication with local teams and stakeholders in Mexico. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex scheduling information clearly. Willingness to travel extensively and relocate temporarily to Mazatlán during key project phases. Location and Travel This role is based in Vancouver, BC, with significant time spent in Mazatlán, Mexico, especially during the construction phase.
