We are hiring Automation Technologist for a manufacturing client in Dawson Creek, BC. You will design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems, often working with engineers and other professionals to ensure efficient operation and reliability.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and installing automated cells or systems, often working with engineers to implement robotic or autonomous systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated systems and equipment, including servo systems, sensors, and control components.
  • Conduct tests and analyses to evaluate the performance, strength, and reliability of automated systems and components.
  • Maintain records of equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance, and report on automation capabilities and status to leadership.
  • Work with engineers, technicians, and other specialists to design, develop, and maintain automated systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues with automated systems, often requiring creative and effective
  • problem-solving skills.
  • May be involved in programming or modifying control systems, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs).


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in automation and process control systems and techniques
  • Solid understanding of networking equipment and software, routers and cabling, plant PLCs, medium and high voltage systems, and HMI software
  • Detailed working knowledge of all HMI hardware and software in use including Wonderware Intouch and Active Factory
  • Detailed working knowledge of AC & DC drives, coordinated drives systems, IT systems, PC hardware and software, servers, fiber optic cabling and network switches
