Job Description Job Summary: The Pharmacy Coordinator plays a pivotal role by scheduling deliveries and processing prescription medications in collaboration with Pharmacists to ensure the accurate dispensing of medications to patients. The Team Lead (B5) role is a successor role for the Pharmacy Coordinator role, as well as back-ups for the other Coordinator roles as required Specific Responsibilities: Provide exemplary customer service that meets the standards of Mc Kesson Canada; customer interaction is done via phone and email Billing prescriptions through pharmacy software, ensuring all required documentation is adequate and appropriate, including (but not limited to) accounts receivables, dosage and dosing intervals, third-party billing restrictions, scheduled appointment dates, clinic locations, copayment management, coordination of benefits, and assignment of benefits Creating patient files in pharmacy software Managing site calendars, appointment changes, dispensing, and shipping schedules Accurately dispensing medications to ensure arrival at the appropriate destination on time Conducting patient follow-up calls for outstanding accounts, ensuring that all medical questions are referred to a Pharmacist Adherence to all relevant guidelines, including the established Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements Inventory management and reconciliation Effective communication with both external and internal contacts Developing and maintaining professional relationships with healthcare professionals, reimbursement coordinators, infusion coordinators, provincial ministries of health, and private payers Accurate data entry into various systems Liaison between insurance plans and physicians directly to ensure all necessary paperwork and information is provided to the patient's plan for coverage review Understanding, and resolving third-party billing issues for high-dollar value products Thoroughly and accurately completing paperwork regarding the processing of materials Other duties as assigned Key Requirements: Knowledge Knowledge of ONPDP, third-party insurance plans, and pharmacy software (Kroll) Proficiency in Windows environment and MS Office Secondary School Diploma Skills Billing and reimbursement experience required Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities Technical skills for successful medication dispensing Effective communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Customer service Teamwork Understanding unique medications and patient needs Problem solving Interpersonal skills Patient advocacy Decision making Collaboration Abilities Quick learner in fast-paced environment Problem-solving and team player Self-starting and independent work style Experiences 1-3+ years of retail pharmacy experience Supervision and Communication: Communication : Strong oral and written communication skills Direct Reports: N/A What you gain in the role: Knowledge: Diverse billing knowledge within specialty pharmacy setting Skills and Abilities: Multitasking, organizational skills , specialty pharmacy specific software Experiences: working with various cross functional teams We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at Mc Kesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with Mc Kesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
