Position: Health & Safety Coordinator (Intermediate)We are seeking an Intermediate Health & Safety Coordinator to provide coordinated, professional support for our Health and Safety Team. Based in our Calgary office, this role supports the administration, execution, and continuous improvement of Greenfire’s Health and Safety Management System (HSMS), with regular engagement with field operations at our Hangingstone operations south of Fort McMurray, AB.The successful candidate will bring a solid foundation in health and safety systems and will be expected to work with a moderate degree of autonomy, exercising sound judgment in support of compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Health & Safety ManagerResponsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:HS Management System AdministrationAdminister and maintain elements of the corporate HSMS, including procedures, standards, and controlled documentsProvide support to the HS Manager in tracking health and safety performance metrics, analyzing trends, and preparing management-level reports and dashboardsProvide support to the HS Manager in managing incident documentation, corrective action tracking, and follow-up to closureAdminister contractor management software, following up with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of complianceRegulatory Compliance & Audit SupportSupport compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, Energy Safety Canada, and applicable industry standards related to Occupational Health and Safety.Provide support to the HS Manager in coordinating internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, including preparation, documentation, and follow-upTraining & Competency OversightAdminister health and safety training programs, including maintenance of applicable software platforms, training matrices and certification trackingCoordinate onboarding and orientation requirements for employees and contractorsIdentify training gaps and support continuous improvement of competency processesOperational & Field InterfaceAct as a key point of contact between corporate and field HS Team personnelConduct periodic site visits to Hangingstone assets to verify implementation of health and safety programs and support Field HS Advisor activitiesParticipate in site meetings, inspections, and incident follow-ups as requiredContinuous Improvement & Corporate SupportLead updates to health and safety practices, procedures, tools, and templates under established governanceSupport management review processes and continuous improvement initiativesAssist with the development and rollout of corporate health and safety communications and initiativesREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline3–6 years of experience in a health and safety coordination or advisory role within oil & gas, SAGD, or industrial environmentsStrong working knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and health and safety management systemsDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesStrong analytical, documentation, and reporting skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with health and safety management systems is an assetWillingness to travel to Fort McMurray approximately 25–40% of the timeValid Class 5 driver’s licensePreferred / AssetsExperience supporting SAGD operationsCRSP designation or actively working toward certificationExperience coordinating audits, corrective action management, and regulatory reportingFamiliarity with contractor safety management and compliance trackingCORE COMPETENCIES:Builds Personal Leadership, continually builds self-awareness and leadership effectivenessDevelops People & Greenfire Culture, demonstrates an unwavering commitment and investment in developing individuals, teams, our culture, and valuesFosters Collaboration, builds strong and trusting internal relationships by modelling and supporting collaboration across the companyChampions Business Excellence, leverages creative thinking, business insight and financial acumen to build operational efficiency and long-term business successShapes Vision & Strategy, strategies that are aligned with Greenfire and will support the overall vision of the company.
