Position SummaryThe Linehaul (Highway) Dispatcher is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring long-haul transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time deliveries. This key role serves as the primary point of contact between drivers, city dispatchers, internal teams, customers, and external partners. The incumbent plays a critical role in route optimization, managing operational disruptions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, while contributing to the overall performance and productivity of the fleet.Key Accountabilities Assign and schedule driver routes and freight loads based on driver availability, delivery timelines, and geographic efficiencyCollaborate closely with city dispatchers to coordinate pickups and deliveries in a team-based environmentMaintain constant communication with drivers via phone, radio, or messaging systems to relay instructions, updates, and changesMonitor load progress in real time and adjust routes or schedules to address delays, weather, accidents, or mechanical issuesOptimize driver schedules to reduce deadhead miles and maximize fleet productivityCoordinate with the maintenance team to arrange repairs and minimize equipment downtimeCommunicate proactively with customers, carriers, brokers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and operational concernsProvide customer service support as needed, including answering inquiries and providing shipment updatesMonitor and enforce compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Hours-of-Service and safety requirementsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of schedules, driver logs, routes, and equipment statusRespond to emergencies or unplanned driver needs to ensure continuity of operationsQualifications and Competencies All MEDLOG Canada employees are expected to exhibit the MEDLOG, striving to drive customer centric results in all interactions with colleagues and customers alike.Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal)A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.Strong knowledge of the geography of Quebec, Ontario, and the East Coast of CanadaAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented dispatch environmentStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyProven problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to unexpected operational changesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholdersHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentatioAvailability to work Monday to Friday, regular daytime hours (typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), with flexibility to respond to operational needs as required---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Contribution to MEDLOG CANADAMEDLOG est un guichet unique pour les solutions terrestres globales.
