Process Engineering Specialist

Our client is Oshawa is looking for a Senior Process Specialist to oversee significant changes in the organizations infrastructure. This is a 1 year renewable contract - hybrid on-site 3 days/week in Oshawa.We are looking for candidates with large scale nuclear power infrastructure experience.Job OverviewBe accountable for developing and establishing standardized business processes and systemsRecommend a project scope and set of objectives and milestones for a process improvement(s) consistent with the business requirements of the Sites. Identify and address potential implementation issues surrounding organizational change, training of affected staff, data conversion problems, information systems upgrades, etc. Recommend project plans, priority sequence and schedules for a process improvement which reflect business plans and process interdependencies. Review and redirect inputs to a process improvement plan on a regular basis to accommodate changes in project forecasts and requirements. Monitor process improvement performance and provide assessments to the Manager to facilitate re-direction. Recommend maintenance or redesign of processes.QualificationsRequires a knowledge of engineering principles, business management systems and controls, communications and the application of computer programs and data bases relevant to an engineering/business environment.Require Six Sigma/Lean Certification (black belt preferred) as well as 5+ years in process improvement using 6 Sigma/Lean methodology.Require experience with Ariba as a business/system administrator.Require experience with end-to-end Supply Chain Lifecycle, with specific expertise in the Procure-to-pay verticalRequires experience in research, project estimating and planning, cost monitoring and reporting, etc, to become fully conversant with project management methods, techniques and concepts. Requires experience with the operations of a nuclear facility, including organization, contacts involved, regulations, policies and procedures.
