Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide support to individuals with special needs
- Evaluate resident's skills and development needs
- Conflict resolution
- Supervise resident’s, ensuring safety and security
- Implement behavior management programs
- Coordinate with social services and healthcare providers
- Develop intervention models and outcome measures
- Maintain program statistics for evaluation and research
- Assist in evaluating treatment program effectiveness
Essential Skills: Reading, writing, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, job planning, and organization.
Work Setting: Residential setting, working with individuals of all ages.
Target Groups or Residents: Our services support individuals of all ages, genders, and abilities, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, and those with disabilities such as deafness/hard of hearing, blindness/visual impairment, intellectual, learning, and mental health disabilities.

As a Behavioral Counselor, we provide both full-time positions (minimum 30-40 hours/week) and part-time positions (15-20 hours+/week) . Since residential care is an essential service operating every day of the year, employees are required to be available during daytime hours, weekends, and holidays.
Location: 1395 Youville Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1C 4R1
Education: Minimum 1 year of study in a related subject field (Developmental Service Worker, Community Service Worker, Psychology, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Criminology, etc.)
Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Languages: English

Work Location: On site, In person
Salary: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
- Rate of pay includes permanent government wage enhancement, on top of existing hourly wages.
This employment opportunity extends beyond the specified responsibilities. The employee may be required to undertake additional tasks as deemed necessary to fulfill the continuous needs of the agency.
