You will become an integral part of a team of Trenchless Industry Innovators and Experts expert designers and engineers providing services for rehabilitation, maintenance, protection and design. This position will be working out of their office in Woodbridge, Ontario.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for sewer, water, and wastewater projects, including underground utilities.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and pricing.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, material, labor, and equipment cost assessments.
  • Identify and evaluate risks, constructability challenges, and potential cost-saving solutions.
  • Prepare and submit RFPs, RFQs, and bid packages in compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide cost evaluations for trenchless rehabilitation techniques such as CIPP lining, directional drilling, pipe bursting, and slip lining.
  • Assess existing infrastructure conditions and recommend trenchless solutions where applicable.
  • Work closely with subcontractors and vendors to obtain competitive pricing for specialized rehabilitation techniques.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure estimates align with project execution.
  • Work with municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies to understand project requirements and permitting constraints.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and alternative materials.
  • Support change order pricing and contract negotiations as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, cost fluctuations, material pricing, and labor rates in the civil infrastructure sector.
  • Research new technologies and materials related to sewer, water, and trenchless rehabilitation methods.
  • Monitor competitor bids and market conditions to enhance estimating strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related fields
  • 5+ years related estimating experience in sewer, water, wastewater, and underground utilities
  • Experience with CIPP, pipe bursting, slip lining, and other no-dig solutions is a strong asset
  • Proficiency in estimating software: B2W (Bid 2 Win), Bluebeam, MS Excel, AutoCAD, and GIS applications
  • Experience working with municipal contracts, unit pricing, lump sum, and design-build projects
  • Familiarity with municipal, provincial, and federal construction standards, environmental regulations, and permitting processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic understanding of MS Project
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and quality management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license
