Are you a skilled tradesperson looking for a challenging role in a dynamic organization? Bureau Veritas Canada is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Process Control Equipment Mechanic to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that equipment requiring external calibrations are monitored and calibrated by qualified services to meet ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Comply with occupational safety regulations, laboratory safety procedures, and ISO Quality System SOPs.
  • Act safely and professionally, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in the maintenance, inspection, and testing of monitoring instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor, document, and record equipment and calibration data.
  • Perform daily monitoring and control of deionized water systems, compressed gas systems, acid neutralization systems, and exhaust system temperature measurements.
  • Carry out general building and grounds maintenance as required.
  • Update the CMMS with proper data according to company SOPs.
  • Repair and maintain make-up air units, exhaust fans, and other equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining building environmental systems, including washdown air scrubbing systems, exhaust fans, make-up air units, dust collection systems, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment used throughout the facility, such as rock crushing and pulverizing machines, gas and electric furnaces, hot plates, digestion blocks, fume hoods, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as belt and chain driven equipment.
  • Adjust and control the BMS system for proper ventilation and temperature control.

Requirements:

  • Ability to handle heavy loads up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work at heights above 30 feet from boom lift systems with required Fall Protection.
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizing and time management skills.
  • High trades aptitude required; intention to enroll in ITAs Trades Apprentice Programs is an asset.
  • Experience dealing daily with CMMS is an asset.
  • Experience in operating hand-operated tools and equipment, with accurate measurements to 0.01mm for shaft and bearing alignments.
  • Ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in mechanical and/or building repairs.
  • Instrumentation, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical experience is an asset.
