The Role
As a Principal Medical Writer, you will mentor and lead less experienced medical writers on complex projects, represent the Medical Writing department on clinical study teams, advise clients and study teams on data presentation and production strategies, develop good working relationships with internal and external colleagues, and manage medical writing activities associated with individual studies.
You will also develop or support a variety of documents, including clinical study protocols and amendments, clinical study reports, patient narratives, clinical development plans, IND submissions and annual reports, integrated summary reports, NDA and (e)CTD submissions, investigator brochures, and clinical journal manuscripts, abstracts, and client presentations.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and lead less experienced medical writers on complex projects.
- Represent the Medical Writing department on clinical study teams, at conferences, meetings, and for presentations to the client regarding a writing project.
- Advises clients and study teams on data presentation and production strategies and on data to ensure that client objectives/expectations are met, and quality standards are maintained.
- Develop good working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
- Manage medical writing activities associated with individual studies, coordinating medical writing activities within and across departments with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree with relevant writing experience or Bachelor of Arts degree (Social Sciences, English or Communications, preferred) with relevant scientific and/or medical knowledge and expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of English grammar and FDA and ICH regulations and guidelines as well as a familiarity with AMA style guide.
- Demonstrated high degree of independence with effective presentation, proofreading, interpersonal, and leadership skills and ensure a team-oriented approach.
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and Internet.
- Ability to demonstrate a familiarity with principles of clinical research and to interpret and present clinical data and other complex information.

Compensation
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $85,500.00 to $175,700.00 The actual salary will vary based on various factors such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. This is a highly competitive compensation package.
