About Our Kindergarten and School-Age Program

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Teacher to join our team at The Rec Room Child Care in Long Branch, Etobicoke, ON. As a Program Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for Kindergartners and School-Agers, promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Responsibilities
  • Create a safe and engaging environment for Kindergartners and School-Agers, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being at all times.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans and activities that foster independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide guidance and support to children as they develop essential life skills, such as fairness, time management, responsibility, and self-regulation.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, including discussing children's developmental progress.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities and behavior.
  • Create and implement Individual Support Plans when required, advocating for children's individual needs.
Requirements
  • Have PR status.
  • Not a student.
  • Fluent in English (oral and writing).
Technical Training and Experience Requirements
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECE's only).
  • Child and Youth Practitioners are welcome to apply.
  • Have a minimum 2-year employment experience working with Kindergartner and School-Age children in a group setting.
  • Experienced in using ELECT and "How Does Learning Happen?" in Emergent Curriculum planning.
  • All necessary qualifications and credentials as required by the Ministry of Education.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED Certification.
