About This Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Skate Instructor to lead our skate programs at YMCA Calgary. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching skate lessons to children and youth, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in this field.

Key Responsibilities

The Head Skate Instructor will provide leadership to instructors and members participating in registered programs or drop-in activities, including public skate, Sticks & Pucks, and Open Skate. They will maintain a safe environment by following policies and procedures to manage risks associated with skating experiences.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:
· National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and/or Can Skate Certification;
· Customer Service experience;
· Supervisory experience considered an asset;
· Ability to manage and adjust to changing environments;
· 3-5 years' experience teaching skate lessons to children and youth;
· Current First Aid and CPR C certification;
· Evidence of a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector search;
