Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Specialist to join our team at Barrick. As a key member of our geotechnical team, you will be responsible for reviewing and managing slope stability data collection and analysis of geologic structure, blast design, and slope monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage slope stability data collection and analysis of geologic structure, blast design, and slope monitoring
  • Inspect and communicate pit and dump inspection results
  • Communicate geotechnical information to site personnel
  • Improve processes related to slope monitoring and slope design
  • Understand surface stability and geologic modeling software programs
  • Develop and maintain 3-D geologic models and their impact on slope stability
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
  • Identify and mitigate hazards in the workplace

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering or related field
  • 0-3 years of hands-on geotechnical experience at an active open pit mine site
  • Knowledge of open pit mining principles
