Drywall Finisher Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at High Think Drywall & Construction. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat (if required)
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
Work Environment:

As a Drywall Finisher, you will work in various locations, and your work will involve working at heights and in confined spaces. You will be required to work overtime and may be required to wear personal protective equipment, including a hard hat and steel-toed safety boots.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in drywall finishing
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work overtime and wear personal protective equipment
