Nursing Professor

Vancouver Island University is seeking a highly qualified Professor of Nursing and Health Sciences to join our Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services. As a key member of our academic team, you will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

• Teach theory and practice courses, as well as skills labs, in all years of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
• Prepare and deliver classes, design and grade student assignments and tests, and facilitate student integration of theory and practice.
• Oversee instructor-led and preceptor-led practicums across all years of the program.
• Participate in program and faculty meetings, and liaise with staff and faculty.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and program initiatives.

• Completed relevant PhD and an undergraduate degree in Nursing from an appropriately accredited institution.
• Minimum three years current practice experience in nursing within different contexts of care.
• Expertise and practice experience in mental health, gerontology, or acute-medical/surgical care.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team.
• Proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching.
• Current practicing membership in good standing with the BCCNP.

• Experience teaching in simulation labs and with digital teaching technology.
• Recent research experience and interests.
