Master Woodworker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Woodworker to join our team at Woodpecker European Timber Framing & Woodworks Ltd. as a Lead Carpenter.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work well under pressure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of carpenters and ensuring that all projects are completed on time and to the highest standard. This includes:

• Leading a team of up to 4 carpenters
• Managing project timelines and budgets
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth project delivery

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• To read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• To measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• To instruct apprentices in the skills required for the job
• To supervise other workers on site
• To operate CADD and other computer software systems
• To use computer numerical control (CNC) machines

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a carpenter or in a related field
• An education in carpentry or a related field
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks

The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
