Job Description

The Senior Sales Representative reports directly to the Sales Manager and works closely with account managers to acquire scrap metal products from dealers and inter-company suppliers.

This role requires a dynamic individual who can build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal staff.

  • Purchase scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage targets while maximizing profit margins;
  • Visit dealers and industrial suppliers to promote new and repeat business, offer pricing, provide customer service, answer questions, handle complaints, and build relationships;
  • Prospect for new customers;
  • Develop reliable contact networks to stay informed about buy/sell prices and market trends;
  • Negotiate contracts with clients;
  • Analyze P&L statements;
  • Use knowledge of operations and processing to inform pricing decisions;
  • Collaborate with administrative staff and the sales team to ensure accurate documentation of purchase transactions;
  • Provide recommendations on scrap metal purchase prices for AIM-operated yards;
  • Carry out special projects as assigned;
  • Coach the team;
  • Perform other related tasks.
