About the Role

The Airworthiness Specialist at CAE Inc supports the Senior Design Engineer by overseeing airworthiness activities for aircraft fleets. Key responsibilities include managing configuration, risk assessment, maintenance program reviews, and technical issue resolution to ensure regulatory compliance and provide technical assistance. They collaborate closely with other teams to maintain fleet airworthiness.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct configuration management activities including repair and modification tracking, configuration audits, and documentation control.
- Review and assess changes to the approved maintenance program for airworthiness impacts and applicability to the NFTC fleet.
- Participate in Risk Management activities and procedures, monitoring and reporting required Risk Management activities to the SDE and processing deviations to the approved maintenance schedule as needed.
- Maintain familiarity with Acceptable Technical Organization (ATO) processes and work instructions and assist in revising materials when necessary to ensure compliance with the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM).
- Evaluate service documentation from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and disseminate it through the engineering workflow process.
- Support In-Service Monitoring Programs and conduct related activities.
- Assist in technical investigations and provide project engineering/project management support for various ongoing ATO-led projects.

Key Requirements:

- Adhere to ATO processes and procedures and ensure compliance with the TAM.
- Collaborate with other ATO members to maintain fleet airworthiness and work closely with engineers, technologists, technicians, and management on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide technical aircraft maintenance support and assist the SDE as required, including performing acting SDE duties when the SDE is absent.
- Report on ATO project progress, track milestone completion, and communicate schedule and budget risks to ATO management.

Our Ideal Candidate:

- Possesses a Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- Familiarity with the DND Airworthiness Program and the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM) is essential.
- Project management experience is considered an asset.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, aircraft manuals, service bulletins, Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), and Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
- Experience with technical writing is beneficial.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience and fluency in English are necessary.
