Electrical Machines and Actuators Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced graduate students to assist in the teaching and learning process of our Electrical Machines and Actuators course at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare for labs/tutorials, ensuring a strong grasp of content, procedures, and assignments.
- Grade lab/tutorial-related assessments.
- Prepare lab/tutorial materials as needed.
- Invigilate midterm and final exams.
- Supervise and facilitate labs/tutorials.
- Demonstrate and explain the use of equipment.
- Help students perform technical procedures.
- Assist students in project work in specified laboratories/tutorials.
Work Hours and Compensation
The estimated total hours of work per section is 40, with up to 7 hours/term for preparation and invigilation, 9 hours/term for preparation, lab/tutorial grading and other duties, and 24 hours/term for lab supervision and facilitation. The estimated compensation is $47.06-$50.82 per hour, depending on the candidate's degree level.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Graduate Assistant (GA) is an asset.
- A strong research background and in-depth knowledge of the subject material are required.
- Relevant software/hardware experience in subject matter is also required.
