Job Summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest degree of quality care and services for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner, adhering to federal, state, and local laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Document medication administration and provide resident care while demonstrating the Sunrise Senior Living mission.
  • Participate in the development of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Director (RCD) and Wellness Nurse to ensure accurate medication administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to infection control techniques.
  • Report all resident concerns and accidents/incidents immediately.
  • Participate in regular training and meetings to ensure compliance with Sunrise standards and state/provincial regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED accepted and may be required per state/provincial regulations.
  • Maintain certifications, such as CPR and First Aid, as required by Sunrise and state/provincial regulations.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions in the resident's best interest.
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
