At Amazon Advertising, we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in advertising technology. We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team and help us develop innovative AI-driven solutions for advertisers.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying highly scalable and reliable distributed services. You will work with a variety of core languages (primarily Java and Python) and technologies (AWS) to build complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.

We are looking for a talented engineer who is adept at a variety of skills, including software development, design patterns, reliability, and scaling. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly scalable and reliable distributed services
  • Work with a variety of core languages (primarily Java and Python) and technologies (AWS)
  • Build complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables
  • Build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • ~2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • ~ Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • ~ Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
