Vancouver Coastal Health is hiring a Community Mental Health Care Specialist to work as part of an interdisciplinary tertiary mental health team at Willow Pavilion 2 (Tertiary Mental Health) at Vancouver General Hospital. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychosocial rehabilitation services within a recovery framework, including promoting independence for clients, supporting them with activities of daily living, community appointments, and meal planning.
The ideal candidate will have a Social Services Diploma or a Certificate from a recognized Health Care Worker educational program, along with two years' experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues. A strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, are essential.
You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to assist in the development of individualized rehabilitative treatment plans, contribute to the overall evaluation of the client, and establish therapeutic relationships based on respect.
