About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products by designing and executing testing strategies, analyzing requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute testing strategies to ensure the quality of our software products
  • Analyze requirements and develop test plans to ensure that our software meets the required standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations, to ensure that our software is delivered on time and within budget
  • Identify and report defects and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and maintain test cases and test scripts to ensure that our software is thoroughly tested
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies and work closely with development teams to ensure that our software is delivered with high quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a minimum of 2 years in a lead or senior role
  • Experience in analyzing testing scope and developing work estimates
  • Experience in creating test strategies and test plans
  • Database and backend testing experience, including writing and verifying results of medium to high complexity SQL and PL/SQL queries
  • Experience working in cloud and mainframe applications
  • Experience with functional and end-to-end testing methodologies
  • Experience working and coordinating testing across different domains and test partners, including vendors
  • Experience working with Agile methodology and Waterfall SDLC
  • Good knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
  • White box testing experience following QA principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Excellent understanding of UAT standards and methodologies
