Job Description:

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to serve as the Director of the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The successful candidate will be a Full Professor with tenure and will have a strong track record of academic leadership, research, and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic leadership and administration to the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the School
  • Lead and manage change in the School
  • Recruit and mentor excellent faculty
  • Advocate for the School's interests and priorities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the School
Requirements:
  • Terminal degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Design
  • Proven track record of academic leadership and administration
  • Strong research and teaching record
  • Experience leading and managing change in a university setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse range of people
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Indigenous strategic planning and reconciliation
  • Commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Experience with strategic planning and implementation
