About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher to join our team at Decent Painting & Decorating Ltd. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet project requirements.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a stable structure.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry to achieve a flawless finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless bond.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires working in a dusty and noisy environment, often outdoors, with varying work settings and locations. You will be required to work physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Permanent employment with a 40-hour workweek.
  • Fluency in English as the primary language of communication.
