Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care on units across Elective Psychiatry Services, ensuring patient needs are met according to CNO standards and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
- Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, receiving patient assignments and following care plans accordingly.
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments, ensuring necessary clinical assessments are initiated.
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members, acting as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as needed.
- Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences, accepting changing work assignments as required.
- Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
- Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice, with experience working with eating disorders an asset.
- Current CPR certification, knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), and documentation standards (CNO).
- Ability to effectively manage crisis situations, deal with acutely ill patients, and work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficient computer skills and experience working with various systems and software applications.
