Make a Difference in Mental Health Care

At Homewood Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients and clients. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you'll be an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, working collaboratively to provide seamless services and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care on units across Elective Psychiatry Services, ensuring patient needs are met according to CNO standards and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, receiving patient assignments and following care plans accordingly.
  • Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments, ensuring necessary clinical assessments are initiated.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members, acting as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as needed.
  • Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences, accepting changing work assignments as required.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
  • Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice, with experience working with eating disorders an asset.
  • Current CPR certification, knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), and documentation standards (CNO).
  • Ability to effectively manage crisis situations, deal with acutely ill patients, and work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience working with various systems and software applications.
