About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Specialist to join our IT architecture team at Global Container Terminals Inc. in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in assessing, planning, and implementing cyber security processes and solutions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor and analyze key systems, including EDR, IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, and other security controls to detect and respond to potential security threats.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and third-party vendors to ensure the implementation of risk-appropriate security measures.
  • Conduct risk and privacy assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and corporate standards, procedures, and guidelines related to cyber security and data protection.
  • Participate in audits and assessments to ensure the effectiveness of our cyber security controls.
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in cyber security or a related field, such as computer science, with equivalent experience in cyber security.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the cyber security sector, with a strong focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining cyber security solutions.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of emerging security trends, threats, and practices, as well as security and control frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, ISO 27002, and ITIL.
  • Experience with security systems, including identity, federation, and access management technologies, switching and routing platforms, cloud-based email and business systems, next-generation firewalls, SIEM, IPS, EDR, and MFA.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
