We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at ALISA CONSTRUCTION INC. The ideal candidate will have experience in applying, leveling, and smoothing coats of plaster, as well as cutting and installing metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to ensure a smooth finish
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work at heights, in cold and hot temperatures, and in dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in drywall installation and finishing
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures
  • Ability to work in dusty conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and steel-toed safety boots
