The BC Public Service Agency invites applications for a Financial Auditor position to join our team of professionals dedicated to providing essential oversight and assurance on subcontracted services for the Ministry of Child and Family Development.

About the Role

This is a permanent opportunity to work as a Senior Auditor, conducting audits and financial reviews that provide critical oversight of agency performance and verify the responsible use of Ministry funding. With a focus on precision, integrity, and adaptability in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will play an essential part in supporting fair, accurate reporting.

The role involves travel within BC to conduct on-site audits, underscoring the commitment to hands-on, thorough reviews of agency operations. As a Senior Auditor, you will be part of a dedicated group of nine professionals committed to providing essential oversight and assurance on subcontracted services for the Ministry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits and financial reviews to provide critical oversight of agency performance and verify the responsible use of Ministry funding.
  • Travel within BC to conduct on-site audits, ensuring thorough and responsible support across all projects.
  • Collaborate closely with both external service providers and internal service delivery team to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Work with a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, recognizing the unique perspectives each team member brings.
Requirements
  • Professional Accounting Designation CPA, ACCA, or CA from a recognized accounting association.
  • Minimum two (2) years of audit experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in reviewing and analysing financial statements.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in conducting risk assessment to identify key risk areas of entities.
  • Possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's licence with no restriction or equivalent.

The salary range for this position is $81,091.80 - $92,378.04 annually, which includes a 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment.
