About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Lead to join our team at GDB Landscaping Ltd. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Job Description
  • Hire, supervise and schedule staff to ensure efficient maintenance of outdoor spaces
  • Plan and direct grounds maintenance activities, including labour and materials management
  • Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls, ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work, coordinating with contractors as needed
  • Maintain accurate work records and logs, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement
  • Tender and administer contracts, ensuring fair pricing and timely delivery
  • Repair and maintain equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing productivity
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies, managing inventory levels and costs
Responsibilities
  • Supervise 5-10 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Establish work schedules and procedures, promoting efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in grounds maintenance or a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate; post-secondary education in horticulture or a related field is an asset
  • Initiative and strong teamwork skills, with ability to resolve problems and provide technical advice
Work Environment
  • Outdoors, with occasional indoor tasks such as administrative work or meetings
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include opportunities for professional growth and development, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
