Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Counsellor to join our team at School District #28 (Quesnel). As a key member of our school-based team, you will provide guidance and support to students, teachers, and parents to promote academic success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counselling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns.
  • Develop and implement guidance programs to promote student engagement, motivation, and achievement.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support student learning and well-being.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress and provide support as needed.
  • Participate in school-based teams to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Counselling or a related field.
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate and membership in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch.
  • Master's degree in Counselling or a related field (an asset).
  • Experience working with students in an elementary school setting (an asset).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school-based team.
