We're looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design and specification of electrical systems on our projects and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with production line design. You'll work closely with our customers and peers across sales, manufacturing, and assembly to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating full electrical design packages, including BOMs, schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Validating design documentation and parts lists to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Reviewing and interpreting customer and vendor drawings and specifications
  • Designing or coordinating the design of MCCs/PDPs and overall power distribution
  • Preparing contractor and scope of work instructions
  • Preparing electrical layouts and detailed drawings and schematics
  • Interpreting technical specifications and application parameters
  • Writing, testing, and commissioning PLC and HMI code
  • Conceptualizing new designs
  • Selecting cost-effective OEM components

Requirements include:

  • 7+ years of Electrical/Controls Engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with production line design and working with end users in a consulting capacity
  • Experience with low-voltage power distribution and electrical panel designs (600V)
  • Experience with communications network design
  • Solid AutoCAD skills required
  • Strong programming and troubleshooting abilities
  • PLC programming experience in Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs is required
  • Experience with Factory Talk Studio or Wonderware
  • Experience with industrial robots is an asset
  • Experience with servo and VFD system design and programming is preferred
  • P Eng. Designation is an asset
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of North American electrical standards for equipment manufacturing
