The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a highly skilled District Range Agrologist to join our team in the Ministry of Forests. As a key member of the Thompson Rivers District Range Team, you will play a critical role in sustaining the range resources of British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities- Determine carrying capacities and design rehabilitation plans for grazing leases
- Apply advanced technologies like GIS for data analysis to support range management decisions
- Work closely with stakeholders, including First Nations communities, to foster strong relationships and ensure effective range management
- Manage 125 range tenures and provide technical expertise to support the thriving ranching sector in the Thompson Rivers District
- Registered as a Professional Agrologist with the BC Institute of Agrologists, or able to transfer a current membership within six months of employment
- Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resource Science, Range Management, Plant Ecology, or related field that includes Range Science
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in range management and administration
- Experience gathering data using data collection devices and/or mobile GIS Applications
- Experience with grazing systems and their application to different range ecosystems
- Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
