Job Summary

The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Pathologist to join our team. As a Forensic Pathologist, you will be responsible for conducting medicolegal postmortem examinations, providing expert testimony in court, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies and lawyers to investigate deaths.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and complicated medicolegal postmortem examinations under Coroners' warrant
  • Provide expert testimony in court on forensic pathology matters
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and lawyers to investigate deaths
  • Participate in the overall Forensic Pathology service work, including on-call service
  • Have academic appointment at the University of Ottawa and participate in collaborative research and teaching activities

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree
  • Eligibility for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • Royal College of Physicians (Canada) certification and/or equivalent board certification in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology or Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology (formerly Anatomical Pathology and General Pathology), and Forensic Pathology
  • Eligibility for category A status on the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service registry
