Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Big Data Developer to join our team at RBC. This is a full-time, salaried position based in Toronto, Canada.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop big data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, and related technologies.
  • Work on ETL development competencies and professional software development experience with HDFS, PL/SQL, and other database-related programming languages.
  • Develop secure server-side services leveraging Spring, Spring Batch/Boot, RESTful Webservices, Apache Data Utilities, NoSQL/SQL databases, and Struts 2.0.
  • Experience with building cloud-ready microservices and containerizing applications.
  • Collaborate with Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Extensive experience with big data (Hadoop/Spark) and ETL development competencies.
  • Professional software development experience with HDFS, PL/SQL, and other database-related programming languages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sense of empathy to effectively liaise between business and technology teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and proven ability for independent work.

Compensation Package

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
