We are seeking a skilled Security Officer to join our team at Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, B.C. As a member of the GardaWorld team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of client assets, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform building patrols to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Provide exceptional customer service to everyone on the property, including tenants, visitors, and guests
  • Exercise powers of arrest in accordance with local laws and company procedures
  • Work closely with law enforcement to gain experience and build relationships
  • Assist visitors, guests, and retail employees with safety-related requests, directions, escorts, and package transportation
  • Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible manner
  • Write daily and incident reports to document security-related activities
  • Intervene during medical emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
  • Be prepared to respond to situations of crime, urgency, and disturbance occurring at the mall
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid BC Security Guard License
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) certification (preferred)
  • Availability to work full-time and flexible hours
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
